Sergeant Paul McCurdy joined the Mt. Morris Township Police 

Department in 1996 after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in 

Criminology from Eastern Michigan University and graduating from the 

Washtenaw Police Academy.  Sgt. McCurdy was initially assigned to 

patrol and after five years, was assigned to the Detective Bureau 

where he worked investigations for a number of years.  Sgt. McCurdy 

then transferred back to the patrol division, where he served as a 

Field Training Officer.  

Paul was then promoted to Sergeant in 2012 where he supervises a 

day shift patrol and is currently in charge of the Field Training Program 

and other administrative duties.  

Sgt. McCurdy graduated from the Eastern Michigan University School of 

Police Staff and Command in 2015 and is currently pursuing his Masters Degree.  

Sgt. McCurdy is also a part time instructor at the Mott Police Academy and 

has been licensed Commercial Pilot for 15 years.
